Neshobe School is a large, grey building on the left-hand side of the road.
Tournament Rules:
Note: This is an unrated tournament. USCF players are welcome, but their rating will not be used for pairing purposes, and their results will not affect their rating.
Players will be grouped into sections according to grade level. Expected sections will be grades K-2,
3-4, 5-6, and for the first time this year, grades 7-8!
The Swiss system will be used and all players will play four rounds (no one will be eliminated,) and first round pairs will be by random draw. The time for each round will be Game/30 (each player has 30 minutes) so no round will last longer than one hour. Middle school players are encouraged to practice notating their games, but this is not required.
Trophies will be presented to the first 4 place-holders, Ribbons for all players for their participation. Ties will be decided at the discretion of the Tournament Director and may include playoffs, standard US Chess Federation tie-breaks, (Modified Median, Solkoff, and Cumulative), or other methods. Players are encouraged to play out their games, as Draws and Byes may affect ties in final results.
Additional Information:
Please bring a chess board and pieces if you have them.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Spectators will not be allowed in the section rooms while games are in progress.
