Directions:

Lafayette Regional E.S. (in Franconia)

Franconia is located in the northern part of New Hampshire in the White

Mountains, just north of the former Old Man of the Mountain.  Take I-93

north to exit 38.  At the end of the ramp, turn left.  Go under the highway

and about one tenth of a mile.  Turn right onto Route 18/ Route 116.  Go

about 1/2 mile.  Lafayette Regional Elementary School will be on your right.

Entry Fee:  $3 if mailed and received by 12/1  or $4 @ door

Format:  

Trophies Awarded

Swiss, 3 rds, G/30 

(Students, K-12, are invited to play three tournament chess games, less than one 
hour each.)

Times:

Registration:  8-8:45 am

(Entries after 8:45 may not be accepted until after the start of the first 
round.)

Round Times:  1st round at 9, subsequent rounds asap

Awards:  12:30

Membership Dues:

$19 USCF membership* required for all entrants under age 15, $25 for 15-19,

gets you a rating  

$6 NH membership* required of rated players

*memberships get you a magazine & are good for a year

To Bring:

Money, Chess set and board, Chess clock, Latest chess magazine

Sections will be based on a combination of grades and ratings:

       Novice:  Grades K-5 and U800

       Reserve:  Grades K-8 and U1000

       Open:  Grades K-12 and 1000 and over

Note:  The cutoffs for each section may be shifted to fit the grades and

ratings of the players.

Miscellaneous:

New players may be given 4 rounds via cross round pairings to establish a

rating, at the TD's discretion.  To get this fourth round, interested

players must see the TD at registration.

No Smoking allowed.

Refreshments will be sold.
